The Andy Danwin "Hand Up" Scholarship Fund is a tribute to our beloved friend Andy, a cherished founding member of Excerebus®. In his honor, we've created this fund to extend a helping hand to homeless Veterans and those teetering on the brink of homelessness, offering them the opportunity to pursue a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or further their education in the field of logistics.
Andy's legacy is one of unwavering support and generosity. He was known for his readiness to lend a "hand up" to anyone facing adversity, and his absence is keenly felt by all who knew him.
Through this scholarship fund, we aim to carry forward Andy's spirit of compassion and assistance, providing tangible pathways to empowerment for those in need. In doing so, we honor his memory and continue his legacy of making a positive difference in the lives of others.
CDL DRIVER PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
The Excerebus® Foundation is committed to taking a comprehensive approach to supporting homeless Veterans and active-duty service members transitioning out of the military, a critical juncture where the risk of homelessness is elevated. Our mission is to provide a solid foundation for these individuals and their families to move forward successfully.
With your assistance, through the COL (Ret) Andrew Danwin "Hand Up" Scholarship Fund, we aim to offer the following vital services:
- Shelter and food assistance during the transitional period and training phase.
- Provision of appropriate clothing and necessary supplies for training toward obtaining their Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Access to computers and software for classroom instruction, ensuring they have the tools needed for success.
- Counseling and guidance for navigating VA and other educational benefits, helping them make the most of available resources.
- Financial support for tuition as required for CDL training, removing barriers to obtaining this valuable qualification.
- Business preparation courses facilitated by licensed CPAs, equipping them with essential entrepreneurial skills.
- Employment opportunities with Excerebus® Freight Inc., providing a pathway to sustainable employment and stability.
Through these initiatives, we aspire to empower our veterans and service members, enabling them to build brighter futures for themselves and their families.
